It may be Fashion Friday but I couldn’t resist writing about a Beauty and the beast themed wedding with the release of the new film being today. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was a favourite of mine growing up (so much so that my mum hand stitched me Belle’s blue dress that I wore to death!) and I know that I’m not the only one with a pure love for the film. And the new film looks equally as perfect as the original and I cannot wait to see Emma Watson as Belle! So if you have a passionate love for Belle and the Beast and would like to add a little flare to your wedding, here are a few ideas for you; from subtle to going all out with the theme.
Invite your family and friends to be your guest with themed save the dates and invitations. If you have a look on Etsy you will find so many different invitations that are themed to Beauty and the Beast; some are really subtle with just hints of the theme and others feature Belle and the Beast on the invitation. You don’t have to go with Etsy, you can create your own design and make up your own invitations. Have a look round for craft roses to stick on to the invites (places like hobby craft do a lot of small craft flowers) and get some blue card to act as the backing for the invites. Or you can design the invites with a wedding stationary company. you have quite a few options.
I’m sure you’ll all agree that the bride’s gown is one of the most exciting and high anticipated parts of any wedding. And if you’re going to Belle for the day then dress like a true princess in one of Alfred Angelo’s Belle gowns from the Disney Fairy Tale Bridal Collection. Or alternatively, look for a ball gown silhouette when you go shopping for your wedding dress.
Alfred Angelo also has a Disney Maiden collection for your bridesmaids or you can shop around in other places. You have a choice of so many colours as well. Whether you want your bridesmaids to match the deep red colour of the enchanted rose or Bell’s iconic yellow ball gown.
For your Bridal jewellery and for your bridesmaids, Alex Monroe has just released an amazing Beauty and the Beast collection. Carry round Mrs Potts, Lumiere, and Chip on your wrist with the delicate bracelet as seen below. The Alex Monroe Rosa Damasca Necklace seen below is a nice subtle nod to the film.
Now we can’t forget about the groom’s suit and the groomsmen. Navy suits always look really smart and stylish and goes with any colour. Whether it be red or yellow/gold. And you’ll be able to find children’s navy suits if you have any page boys or young ushers. I love the look of this navy and gold suit that represents the Beast in a modern and stylish way.
And of course we can’t forget about the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom. Surprisingly I found a deep red coloured outfit the hardest to find online but there were plenty go lovely outfits in a deep blue or navy. My favourite of all three shown below is the yellow Jon Charles dress and blazer, its so elegant and the colour would be lovely for a summer wedding.

The wedding cake is definitely the tastiest part of any wedding. And these Disney cakes look almost too good to eat (key word there -almost!) For the more extravagant you may want to go with a castle wedding cake or a Belle and the beast topper. For a subtle approach you can have a traditional or plains cake with topper like the Tale as Old as Time topper seen below. Or if you don’t want to have a tiered cake and would prefer to have cupcakes instead, have fondant roses on top of them. I love the ones shown below from Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, they look just like the enchanted rose in the film.
Everyone knows that Belle loves her books and dreams of a “far off places” in her fairytales. And this table planner and table numbers perfectly represent any fairytale and Belle’s books.

For decorations ask your venue if they can supply candelabras and source teacups (they look great for flower displays) or have a look at hire companies to supply them. Stack your flowers display teacups on pots on a set of Belle’s favourite books. You can even have flowers laced around candelabras which gives a gorgeous dramatic look. Or another option, get your very own Mrs Potts and Chip tea set for your table display and put flowers in them. For the flowers themselves (and this includes your bridal bouquet) you can opt for red roses like the film which would work well for an Autumn/Winter wedding, or white and pink roses look beautiful for spring/summer wedding.
Give you guests a little gift to remember your wedding day and a tale as old as time with a lovely wedding favour. For something useful there’s trinket holders in the shape of a handheld mirror like the Beast is left with after the curse. I really like the candle in a teacups as shown below. The crystal red rose shown below is truly a standout and what better gift to give your guests from a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding.
Guests books are always a nice way for people to leave a kind word and well wishes for your marriage and this Be Our Guest book is perfect for your theme.
