White isn’t for everyone and if you’d prefer to wear something modern and different on your wedding day, a coloured wedding dress is the perfect choice. Your guests will never expect for you to walk down the aisle in something other than white so its sure to make for a dramatic entrance.
Ombre gowns are a beautiful and delicate way to add a bit of colour to your dress. The top half of your dress will be your traditional wedding dress before blending seamlessly into the colour at the train of the dress.
With celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Biel and Anne Hathaway wearing pale pink gowns for their wedding, this colour has become a popular choice for brides. Blush/pale pink colours flatter any skin tone so you’ll be glowing on your wedding day in this coloured dress.
Floral gowns are perfect for a spring time wedding when flowers are in bloom. The floral detail on the dress makes for a subtle and pretty effect. You can also combine a blush/pale pink colour with the florals for a pretty girly look. The Claire La Faye In Bloom gown (third image below) if made from handprinted silk so your dress will be one of a kind and totally unique to you.
If pink’s not for you maybe a pale blue would be better suited for you. Plus you’ll be wearing your “something blue” for your wedding so you can tick that of your list.
It’s a rule not to wear red to a wedding so you don’t take attention away from the bride. But that doesn’t mean the bride can’t wear red. This colour gown would look amazing for a winter/Christmas wedding. You can have a bright red dress or a deep wine tone. It will definitely give you a dramatic look.
If none of these other colour are for you then go full on dramatic and totally unexpected with a black wedding dress. There are quite a lot of black wedding dresses these days but depending on what material is used they can sometimes look a bit cheap. I love this dramatic Vera Wang gown which gives off a lovely smokey effect with the use of lighter shades mixed in with the black.
